Mobile Home Fire Kills 3 In N.J.
(AP) HAZLET, N.J. Two adults and a child in a mobile home have
died in an intense fire that consumed their trailer before dawn Sunday, police
said.
The fire was reported just after 5 a.m. at Bayshore Mobile Manor,
a trailer park of more than 200 units off Route 36 in this Monmouth County
community.
The three residents were reportedly pulled from the burning
trailer.
They had not been publicly identified by police Sunday morning
pending notification of family members, said dispatcher Karen Ackerson.
The victims are believed to have died at the scene. Two cats and a dog
also perished in the blaze.
The fire went to three alarms, but had been
extinguished by morning.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is
investigating the cause of the fire, which involved only the one trailer, but
caused extensive damage to the home, police said.
